EBay beware
Found a double duck goldenedge on EBay the other day- was $20, read the description & went for it. Upon blowing the pictures up & looking at the blade on the tang, it said made by Case, immediately tried to withdraw my bid had a brief argument with the seller & eventually after telling them I wasn't going to pay (and take the 1 ding on my profile) & contact EBay & inform them that they were passing off counterfeit razors they took my bid off. But watch the to good to be true out there, guess that I'm new to straights seen the DD & got to excited

Thanked: 4828There are three kinds of straight razor sellers. Those that do not know what they are selling and are just listing stuff with random misinformation, because they don;t know any better. There is also well informed sellers that know what everything is and list it correctly and accurately and communicate effectively and then there is the people who are looking for a fast buck and will intentionally list stuff wrong pretending to be seller #1, preying on those less informed or not really paying super close attention. I have encountered them all.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Thanked: 169Yeah, you should always scrutinize everything and if something is not offered up by the seller, ask. I'm always on maximum guard buying straights out of hand.

Thanked: 39What gets me is that I am always asking what the width of the razor is. They will tell you the length, but I keep having to ask is this a 5/8ths or a 6/8ths?. Sometimes its hard to tell because of the camera angle.

I know better than to jump on thing especially on Ebay, but opening bid of $20 I got giddy, just been shaving with straights for about 6 months now, have a cheap Titian & a heirloom that was given to me by my father in law ( his grandfathers) that i need to get to Danny Schulman for a hone. Been listening to you guys about the quality of the DD's & been looking for 1. Just glad it turned out
