Thanked: 3I am selling off some of my collection
I am selling off several of my items on ebay and am open to reasonable offers but I must get out of them what I put into them. I am trying to get some money to celebrate my wife's birthday in style. They are all shave ready on Naniwa hones up to 10,000.
Wade and Butcher Frameback with "irish point" (vintage black walnut scales that I sanded and oiled with tongue oil)
1840's Wade and Butcher Irish Point Frameback 13 16 Shave Ready | eBay
Brother set of W. Richardson in Ivory scales (scale issues on both sets of ivories)
Pair 1850 1870 RARE Richardson Edinburgh Shave Ready Natural Scaled Straight | eBay
Joseph Rodgers and Sons in Ivory Scales (scale issues as many ivories have)
1890's Joseph Rodgers Natural Scaled Shave Ready 5 8 Straight Razor | eBay
Mappin and Webb in Ivory Scales (perfect condition with the exception of some ancient water staining towards the toe)
1870 1890 Shave Ready 5 8 Mappin and Webb Natural Scaled Straight Razor | eBay
Thanks,

Good ole Land Caster, O-H.
Grew up in Chillicothe then moved to C-Bus for my college and work. Used to work for the Cable company in your area back in the early 90's.
Looking at your screen name, Im wondeing if you did any Civil War reenacting? It was pretty big in your area back in the day."The production of to many usefull things results in too many useless people."

Thanked: 39Good Luck Robert E. Lee!.I just sold a Griffon XX, a "Coon" a J.R. Torry and one I can't remember to a Antique Barber shop, lost money but they sell Col. Conk soap and brushes with stands, Straight razors are scarce down here in Mobile,Al. I fiquered I would give somebody out looking a surprise. I may go back there tomorrow and see if they could get the persons name that buys any of them, I might find a shaving, honing, etc, partner. I still have 20+razors.

I helped start the 63rd OVI in Chillicothe back in the late 80s early 90s with an old high school history teacher. We eneded up getting grey and butternut uniforms to help fill in the ranks when we went to reenactments up north that were not as balanced in numbers. Did Gettysburg for the 140th aniversary. Absolutely mobbed but a blast. Some of our guys went for the filming of Gettysburg. Made everyone strip off any an all insignias so everybody was the same. I spent two weeks there but it was just a lot of standing around and living the camp life. One of our retired soldiers had a small speaking part and if you look closely you can see him dressed in both uniforms in the movie. I was a 1st Sgt for years until our Capt fell ill. Then I got promoted and stopped earning my money as it were.
One of the guys we met over the years used to reenact Longstreet. I cant remember his full name but he did have part of his name legally changed to Longstreet. When I was president of our SUV in Chillicothe, I had him come and present one year. Had another come the year after as Sherman. We discussed his march to the sea. They both did a fabulous job. Best years of the that local SUV branch. I still have all of my gear. Sadly its all in stashed away in storage now.Last edited by Suticat; 02-23-2016 at 09:49 AM.
