I always ask about the shipping before bidding as your obliged to buy once you've won an item and some people in the US quote shipping in excess of $50 for small items to the UK (I've even seen pen sized $10 items with $90 shipping). These kind of prices often mean we have to pay tax on the total and brokerage fees on top for all shipping methods to the UK.
