Thanked: 18How did I do/ what info can I get around these razors
Hi guys,
First buys. So looking for feed back
1. How did I do?
2. What are the significance of the model numbers and how they compare to other numbers?
3. Anything else you could tell me about.

Thanked: 3795They both look like they can be made into great shavers. If you are new to this, do you have a plan for honing them? If not, then get hold of Onimaru, who is located in Australia.

I am already in touch with him. These are the first ones I buy without actually handling them. I have a few others. I am very curious about the significance of the numbers especially the Tanifuji.
Maybe I should have been clearer in the original post.Last edited by Rami; 05-19-2016 at 10:35 AM.

Not familiar with the Tanifuji but once the Puma has been honed up, guaranteed that it will be a good one.

Thanked: 2591The Puma will need some clean up, I see some spotting on the blade. It should hone beautifully. The grind is full hollow to half hollow.
Tanifuji was a top brand in Japan, they were so well regarded that Iwasaki chose them from the rest to do finishing work on their razors.
The numbers are a model number, I do not think anyone knows what they mean exactly, it could be different blade shapes, different scales colors, different grinds, different stamps on the tangs etc. Tanifuji typically are half hollow ground.Stefan

Thanked: 18Great. I did my research, I just wasn't sure what all the numbers meant.
