Ebay seller question
I won a decent razor for a pretty low price on Ebay back on May 2nd. Of course as soon as the auction was over I paid through Paypal so I'd receive it as quickly as possible.
Now, the days rolled by, shipping notifications never came. I emailed the seller twice asking about shipping and then started to investigate. Basically the seller's Paypal address didn't match their account or something like that, so they never accepted the payment. Being the nice guy I am (and wanting that stupid razor) I e-mail him with instructions on how to fix his Paypal account.
So now after chatting with Ebay reps, the only recourse I had was to cancel the payment through Paypal because the seller still never responded to any of my messages.
In retrospect, I should've noticed the seller had 0 transactions on their account and just expected something to go wrong, but I've purchased a fair amount of items on the bay and never experienced a problem like this before.
Was there really no other option other than the cancel the payment? What's the longest you've waited to wait for a seller to get their stuff straight?

You can wait and wait, but my advice is- as soon as there is a problem if the seller doesn't correct it immediately, take your money back and run. The longer you wait the less likely you will be to get your money back. A good seller will communicate and rectify the problem pretty quick.
I've had a seller I've been waiting for return funds from for over a year and a half. Learned my lesson. I know that money isn't coming back.

Probably the best course imo. That's an excessive amount of time to not respond. I have not had anyone take longer than 24 hours. Even brand new sellers. Best to put that money in a new auction andd hopefully they learn from this.

Thanked: 634I had that happen with a seller in Louisiana. Emailed him three times with no response. Contacted requesting a refund. They notified seller and five days later he ships the razor instead of refunding my money.
Suggest you try to contact seller and if no response open a case with ebay.
Good luck.

As long as you canceled the payment you should be ok. Did the money go back in your account? If and when the seller contacts you and you still want the razor you can work something out. As long as I got my money back I would forget about it and walk. good luck.

yup since they never accepted the payment through paypal it was back in my account pretty quickly. No harm, no foul I guess... just a nuisance more than anything.

Oh looks like I'm getting my razor. I had sent a polite message asking if it was a over site. He told me there was a death in the family and shipped it out yesterday.
