Thanked: 4827There have been threads about the single dude versus the twins. Some say it was during an era when Henckels was making a second rate razor to compete with the cheap razors. In kitchen knives they say it is Henckels that were not made in Germany, although the razors are all marked Germany too that kind of shoots that one down. The truth is out there...

Thanked: 1184How many letter openers does a guy need ?
I seem to remember a single guy Henkles myself but not at all sure.
Reminds me of a question I heard once. What came first the chicken or the duck? :<0) Your gonna have to know your ducks to get that one.Last edited by 10Pups; 07-26-2016 at 03:31 AM.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I have seen two razors with an Illing (single man logo) and I purchased one of them.
The logo on your tang is pointed in the wrong direction. The two that I have seen have the feet directed toward the edge and the head pointed toward the spine. Also, one hand is pointed up and one hand is pointed down.
I also think yours says "Banckles".
I have made inquiries about mine to Henckles USA and they have forwarded my correspondence and photos to Germany for verification.

I got mine on e-bay for $55 and the one being sold in Russia had a price of about $205.
When I purchased it, I also thought that if it was not authentic, it was an interesting curiosity.

Realization of the vastness of ones own ignorance is the first step on the path to true wisdom.

I'm a relative new SR shaver and I can even see it says "Banckles". Nothing to wonder here IMO. Looks like a fake to me.
Silly, how some people will go to hell to make a buck.
