Thanked: 0Little Gem
I recently purchased a J.A.HENCKLES on E-bay and when it arrived I was surprised at how good it looked and I thought there must be something wrong with this but the only thing I could fault was it was not sharp in any way shape or form
So I taped the blade and gave it a good going over on the Norton but even after about 1/2 an hour it still was not even close to shaving with and I thought this is going to be a challenge
Now I am the first to admit I am no hone master by a long shot but I can get a razor to shave the hairs on my arm in about 1/2 an hour most times but this HENCKLES did not even look like doing that so I spent another hour on it honing and testing it until it shave the hairs on my arm and so thought time to try a shave so I gave it a quick stropping and put it to the test and let me say that it almost rivals my favorite razor(a Bismarck) I now consider myself very lucky to have picked up such a great razor

You just got to love tht hard henckels steel. Slow to hone but it tends to stay sharp longer, balencing the equation. I hope you got it for steal as well... that would really make it sweet.
Be just and fear not.

Thanked: 0The price I paid for it was about $45.00 AUD (including shipping ) which to me is a real bargain considering that a new Dovo over here will set you back about $120-$200 AUD and to me the little extra time I spend honing the henckels is more than worth it (am I bragging )
