Thanked: 169Yes, fedex ground is notorious as it is but they don't like me from the starts as I reported them on numerous occasions for ringing every bell in the building to get in regardless of who it is. Real nice when you have a 90 year old and two 80+ ppl. Mostly though, it is their contract model for ground drivers which is encouraging this behavior. They see a box with a size/weight that implies value, or boxes with branding from vendor x y or z and they go for it. Go look on their facebook page or any other form of social media. It's a theft blitz. Usps at worst loses your stuff for a few weeks and lets it coast around america. They always end up finding it. I am somewhere between 2500 and 3000 packages in the last 3.5 yrs with them coming and going wo a loss. Fedex is 2/2 now with disappearances in the last year and change. The most blatant was in my ice hockey days when the christian factory was still in Minnesota. I ordered a bulk lot of carbon fiber sticks to get me through the season and they had the b@##s to deliver me an empty box with the foam. Nice guys...

Thanked: 169Even if you request a signature, if a homeless guy is sleeping on the sidewalk in front of your place, it's a-ok to let him sign and take posession of your stuff... Not joking.. It's a very twisted company

Thanked: 3795In that case don't you have grounds to file a claim with ebay? You requested and paid for a specific manner of shipping. They accepted the payment but did not follow through so isn't the seller at fault?

Thanked: 169Wasn't an ebay purchase. A claim is finally in, but at the same time I'd rather catch this person in the act if at all possible.

Thanked: 169My most severe warning to anyone is if someone insists on fedex kill the deal... It's as bad as shipping goods to Italy, just kiss them goodbye

Thanked: 169Had the strangest call from fedex last night. They are reimbursing me in full. They also wouldn't admit it outright to me but the person alluded to the fact they didn't believe the driver's tale. I guess other delivered packages on his route may not have been either as of late and eyebrows are raised? I hope so.... Astonishingly, she admitted theft by ground drivers has been a serious issue for them this year. Shippers beware

Glad to hear you're getting your $ back in any case. I wonder if this incident wasn't the first in this driver's history ?
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
