Well she alluded to the fact they didn't buy his story. I am guessing they investigated his recent hit/miss rate and may have seen something concerning.

As part of my business, I use FedEx almost exclusively for my shipping. They have always covered me when anything I shipped failed to get there, which has been surprisingly rare.
