Tip: Dont get into a bidding war or even look on ebay for razors when you've had a good few beers...

They are probably using Ebay's Auction Sniper program. Google it.

It puts your bid in during the last five seconds so that nobody except another sniper can get another bid in. Your last second bid still has to be higher than anyone else's of course

At first I hated it too. Or the slower bidding war that takes you beyond your budget. Aarrgh!

After reading advice from members here I started setting how much I'm willing to pay. Afterwards you can look at the bids and see where other's have set their limit. I like waiting and watching till last minute or so and then let it go. Boom it goes beyond my limit sometimes and others I get it for way less than I would have paid. Either way I'm feeling more a winner. Especially when it goes beyond my limit. Some one else paid too much and I feel I did not. I might have to wait till another example pops up but a lot of times the next one is in better condition. Couple times got it in better shape and for less than one I lost.

I know what you mean I was so pumped these 2 items were super cheap and I was all giddy for the deal then lost em. Oh well there will be more I'm gonna start waiting until the end from now on.

Yep stinks to miss out on something you want. But setting your max and sticking to it, or going last second so thats it is a good way to make sure you don't over pay. easy to get sucked in.

And yeah drinking while ebaying, nothing good can happen. I remember a few years ago a buddy and I were having a few beers while he was messing around on ebay , he got real fired up about this neon Alaskan Amber sign that was ending later that evening. I ended up going home but the next day he told me he "won" that sign. Ends up he paid about $60 more than a new one would have cost him lol But he won !!

They are killing me on ebay!! I am trying to recoup some razor spending , listed up a couple items and they have deleted one of my ads twice now. I guess I used the wrong words to describe my scope, but so far have violated something about assault weapons, then brand violations... need to rethink my wording and try again hahaa
