Thanked: 17Ebay dozen nib Wade & Butchers
An auction for a dozen new in box w&b's just end at $500 something. I'm curious if anyone here bought them, if so if they can give us some feedback when they get them, and if anone else saw them what we're they're thoughts.
If there were photos of all 12 I would have bid, but what do I need 12 more for? Seems like 500 was a steal. If photo of all 12 they probably would have gotten much more.

Thanked: 480Yup, I saw them too. And I felt the same way. only 2 pictured, and as far as anybody knows those were the best of the bunch and the rest are completely rusted to swiss cheeze.
Still, not a bad price at under 50 bucks each, and certainly a collector would be overjoyed to find original packaging like that. I'm sure who ever got it is not unhappy.

Thanks JimmyHAD - very interesting find indeed - never saw the listing.
While I'm not a fan of the India Steel razors, that shape and etch just never attracted me personally, the Old English razor, look like concave or Rattler grind, look simply amazing - 6 of those in NOS condition is a stunning find - congrats on to the winner for sure.

Thanked: 17Yeah, I thought they'd get more action, and maybe end up over a grand, but there were photos of only 2 and they had rust over the etch, like magpie i was worried they were the best of the bunch. The packaging was really neat, and obviously I've never seen new boxes, they looked like leather. It was like seeing an actual photo of a dinosaur.
I am really curious how the rest of the razors looked.

Thanked: 169Myself and zak tried to ask questions but the seller was being really evasive so neither of us even bid. I suspect the seller didn't even have them in hand during the auction.

Thanked: 118You don't know how prescient you were...
A buddy of mine won that auction and he sent me an email this morning just a bit pissed off because the seller sent him a message saying the item was in storage and he can't retrieve it for a month so he refunded the money. Very suspicious of course, why list something when you don't have it in hand? Most likely the seller was hoping for a much higher price and just wanted an excuse to cancel the auction. He should have just put a reserve price on the listing then or done a BIN listing with a price he liked.
I agree it was suspicious to see only two razors shown considering he had already opened the outer packaging. Personally I would have rather seen the whole thing kept together, never opened, truly NOS, and have that titillation of whether the razors were mint or all rusted out.
