Thread: Planning on Selling my hones

I have the old style Naniwa stones (5k, 8k, 12k). They are slightly used, i never really got the hang of honing. So i Was wondering if they are better sold individually are as a set. Any help would be great thanks.

Not sure which is "old" and which is new, but for your purposes it doesnt matter. Its my opinion (for what ever THAT might be worth) that people tend to expect a small discount when buying "more" On the other hand, depending on the where and how, they may save enough on shipping for a single box that they might be willing to pay more just to not pay 3 separate shipping charges. Only works that way if they are looking to buy all the different grits at once. of course.

I would price them individually and offer a slight discount if someone happens to want them all.

It could be that the lack of a bevel setter is the reason you never got the hang of honing?

Vonstriker, where are you located? I ask because I would like to see if we can find someone near you to help you use your hones rather than selling them.

Are you still using a straight razor? If not, would you be interested in another shot at it?

Hey guys thanks for the replies. Um I am using a shavette at the moment. I found I could never get the blades as sharp as the feathers I use. I live in Seattle. Maybe it was because I didn't have a 1k to start, idk. But, I have been unemployed for a bit and need to make some cash and i wasn't using em.

well as to getting them as sharp as a Feather, that takes some experience, maybe you need a honing lesson one on one. now as to needing to sell then your on your own cause the only thing we can do is tell you to list on the B/S/T section with whatever price you are trying to get, cause we cant really tell you what their worth to sell.
