Are there U.S. import fees for straight razor purchases from Europe?

OK, searched site numerous times without success. Would like to purchase some straight razors from international sellers in Germany and Italy. Can't determine whether I would have to pay some sort of import fee or duty to bring razors into the US. Items would be for personal use only (not commercial).

Experienced EBay buyers: Do you pay anything besides international shipping when you buy razors from Europe?

I've never paid an import fee, just shipping costs.

Not as far as I can tell.

Anytime I receive a package from the US, customs asks me for a copy of the invoice to figure out how much they want from me.
I haven't heard the same for packages I send out to the US.

I have never paid import fees on razors or stones, I will be very happy if that continues to be the case.

Technically it depends on the value and the material and the country it comes from. So, yes it's possible but not very likely unless you receive it via FedEx or UPS who will find any duty they can so they can charge you for it.

U.S Customs is very liberal when it comes to accessing duty unlike other countries who depend on these fees heavily. Before the Income tax the U.S got most of it's revenue from tariffs and duty too.

Now if you be talking Canada they be very wily customs agents to charge you a mint if they can.

I've never been charged. I would expect this to continue as long as we don't get in any trade wars.

Anything I get FROM the US otoh....
Many years ago they were very loose with duty and at worst they'd slap me with the default administrative fee of 12 euro.
These days they demand to see the invoice, and then add 30 to 50% again in import fees. And there is nothing you can do to appeal, other than refusing the packaging.
Anything from China does NOT get an import fee, and for Canada it is usually a small fee.
