Default Nice collectible kit on the bay

This is not mine, and I dont know whose it is. But I thought it would be of interest to some of the members here. Its so easy to overlook.

This is a nice kit in what looks to be excellent condition. Razor in original box, paddle strop in box, and what is easily missed, the original strop pastes!

It seems to me to be good enough condition for a collector, and is certainly fine enough to be put to use if that is your want.

Hope one of you guys grab it. Good Luck!

There is some nifty things in there. I'd like to see pictures when you have them in hand.

I'll be happy to post up some pic as soon as it gets here. Should I add them to this thread? or start a new one elsewhere? Not sure what it would go under, Razors? Strops? Show and Tell?

three threads, this one being the obvious, a new one under show and tell or add it to what you got in the mail. I am intrigued by the little things that comes with it. My guess is stropping compound. It is rare to see a little collection like that, at least I have not seen many advertised.

You mean that little packet with the french that makes you think "lead oxide strop paste" ?

There is two of them one makes me think about a compound like lead or perhaps ferrous oxide and the other more of a dried up old leather conditioner.

Lithide would be a lead based compound. That would have been for the finishing side of the strop. Thats the small red foil wrapped brick.

The "Sharpening" side of the strop sparkles with abrasives. Probably whats in the larger, but lighter in weight, black wrapped brick.

I dont understand French, so if anybody wants, they can translate. But sadly, I will be returning this kit. It was listed as near mint. I dont think this qualifies...

The finishing side.... is rather.... finished.
