I doubt very much that device has anything to do with shaving brushes. Those things were made as holders for ink stampers many years ago. Most Govt offices have them. I think thats just a seller reaching some.

Now if I could just find a fancy ink stamp/ shaving brush holder that holds just two of them, that would be a good thing. I could just buy a nice brush holder but it has to be a fancy ink stamp holder to stand out on my sink.

Just go into an office supply store and you will find what you seek. I'm sure somewhere on Eboy there are vintage stamp holders with various configurations.
