not to be this guy... but is it possible that it was incorrectly packaged and sliced its way through the package in all the bumping around? I could see that happening, especially if ordered off the bay or something hastily packaged. might be worth a second look at those packages to see if that might be possible. wont solve the problem of the missing razor though, i suppose.

I was with FedEx for eight years. It is very common for improperly packaged shipments to rip open. Often, no one is standing there when an envelope or package tears up due to all the automated conveyer belts. They tape it up and send it on its way when the find it.
The shipper is responsible for proper packaging. You know the paper thin package that a junk food single serving fried fruit pie comes in? I had an eBay shipper send me a razor in one of those. I was surprised that it came and wasn't damaged.
Theft within American carriers definitely happens. Usually, high value items are targeted - items that are higher value than most razors off of eBay.

Thanked: 734Good luck getting the post office to honor your insurance. The burden usually falls on the seller. The last time I had an issue I was the seller on eBay. The buyer claimed they never received the package. The PO confirmed that they never delivered it. So I refunded the money. But the PO never honored the claim. All they would say is that sometimes there are significant delays and because they didn't have the package tracked down, they couldn't honor the claim. But that defines the word missing/lost. I suppose if you have an unlimited amount of time and energy, you might prevail. I ran out of both after getting nowhere.

I thought that eBay had an eBay guarantee on shipments.
There was a guy on this forum who sold a nice razor. The customer received it and returned a box with junk in it. Once the return was processed as delivered, the thieving customer got a full refund at the seller's expense. There was no way for the seller to make an issue of it - eBay is geared toward protecting the customer.
I'm guessing the the seller for the original poster didn't package it correctly and it was torn open during shipment, thus it is likely on them anyway.
You might get resolution via eBay.
Next, as far as I have ever known, only the party paying the carrier can file a claim

IF the package arrives, empty or not, USPS will do nothing. Insured or not.
Luck is with Ebay or Paypal.Last edited by sharptonn; 07-20-2017 at 04:15 AM.

I had the post office deliver the cover off a magazine one month. It looked like it had been ran over. I wonder if the rest of the issue was any good.
Maybe thebigspendur could do a pictorial of how he packages shaving gear for mailing!

File a claim. When you file they have a section for missing contents. If they placed the envelope in a plastic sleeve they are admitting that there was a problem during shipping. I would also contact the seller through Ebay. At this point you have nothing to lose so explore all the options and something might work.
