It is hard to tell without seeing the presentation side of the razor. Can you add another picture?

Kees, I am by no means an expert on Dorko's. I do have a few but I have never seen a Dorko that looks at all like the razor you are showing. The box is not to be used as an indicator of authenticity.

Hopefully one of our members more familiar with Dorko's will chime in here.

I have no idea, but Kees, have you asked the seller if there is any printing on the tang?

I once had to resort to an ebay resolution because a seller insisted that a razor was the brand that matched the box. I told him that a Timex in a Rolex box is still a Timex. He continued to insist that it was what he claimed--I cannot recall the specifics, but once I got the razor and clearly read something else on the tang, then we had an issue.

As you know, a box alone does not make it a Dorko.

It seems by the box that it is older than more modern Dorko razors we see.

Might be an old one. That celluloid!

Thanks for all your replies. I was soon overbid so did not want to bother the seller with my questions.

I think you made a good move by ducking out. It's possible that it's something special, but more likely that the box doesn't match the razor.

Does look like a nice razor made with care, but it comes along with plenty of free hone wear included, and the celluloid broken off of the back side of the tang would make it hard for it to ever be worth much.
