Default First SR Problem on the Bay

I've been fortunate with the straight razors I've bought on eBay. I just got burned for the 1 time with straights. Lesson learned -- NEVER BUY A RAZOR WITHOUT ZOOM PICTURES.

If it was not mentioned in description I would send it back. If they refuse refund put in a complaint to eBay and PayPal.

I agree with both of you. If I cant zoom in and if the pics are not clear and sharp, I dont even think about bidding. Now I might be missing out on some good deals but... And, I'd request a refund as the crack was not mentioned. No reason to sit back and not do anything. Thats what bad sellers are hoping you would do. Good luck on the out come and let us know what they say. I hate buying from eBay but its where you find the most and best prices, if you know how to shop for them.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

Always taking a chance with ebay but for the most part, if it is an honest mistake or oversight, sellers usually work with you.

First and foremost--Play Nice. Contact the seller tell them about finding the crack and that it wasn't mentioned and ask them nicely for a refund including shipping back. It is quite possible that they will just tell you to keep it or they may throw a hissy fit. If it's the later re-contact them and ask them to reconsider as you really don't want to have to go the Ebay and file a complaint.

Always start out being nice, you can always get ugly later if need be.

Often enough, the seller does not know what to look for, and if they are not staring right at it, may miss a hard to see crack. His auction offers returns. Just ship it back. Yea, you end up losing a few dollars to the shipping, but in the big scheme of things, its not a horror show. And certainly message him first and let him know. If he says "keep it" you get your money back, you dont lose the shipping (ebay returns include the shipping IIRC) and you get a set of scales to use on your next good blade bad handle purchase
