Thanked: 634Condition looks excellent. I personally like the heavier grinds. If you get it have it professionally honed.

looks like a nice razor. I'm still partial to the b/s/t option for beginners because you know exactly what you're getting.
but if you got this one and had it professionally honed I bet it'd be a shaverOne man's opinion...

Personally I don't like the eBay option for new guys. Their there to sell it with cool words like Vintage Shave Ready, yet we know it's not so in a lot of cases, but if you get it and it does turn out to be a good one. How much do you save after you send it for to be honed? Seems safer to buy one here in the bst and know it's ready, bet the cost is the same without taking the risk. Tc

it stands for "buy/sell/trade" if you are on the web version of the site, look to the tabs at the top of the page. There you will find the b/s/t area of the forum.
once there you can jump into the razor section and more than likely find yourself a great SHAVE READY (actually shave ready) razor at a fair and honest price. And in many cases, well below market price on the bay.
This is a great way for a beginner to select a reasonably-priced blade that is proven to shave well and hold an edge by the person selling it. Since it's only members that sell on the b/s/t area there is a certain level of accountability that goes along with selling on there and it's imo the safest and best option for someone new to wet shaving. take a lookskie! One man's opinion...

Thanked: 315Nice looking razor, but
1 - the price will probably go up quite a bit in the last 3 seconds of the auction
2 - near shave ready means NOT shave ready. Stropping won't help that

Thanked: 0Thanks all for the input.. I'll probably watch the auction and buy something from the B/T/S so that i get that Shave ready blade... maybe in time I'll look for projects.
Does anyone have any experiences of the whipped dog sight unseen razors are like for beginners?
Cheers

I hear his edges are ok, but again it's sight unseen, for the same money you will find one here. But we have given this advise more times than we can shake a stick at, but you will do what it s you want to do then tell us later that you should have followed advise. It will never change, newer all to bull headed to do the right thing. But sight unseen will be shave ready, as to looks, well that's another story. Tc
