I go with what everyone is saying. The issue with the chip might bring you to the point of ha ing to rework the stabilizer. Maybe not. Its close. You would have to work on the chip then see. Hone ware ias not bad. Now if i seen that hone ware and a frown to go with it that would point to a bent or wonky blade. JMHO.
I will add that this is a good practice exercise. Good of you to think about doing it. Some blades are not worth the effort but you have to decide if you can put the time into it to bring it back to shave ready or to take it to full restored beauty. And the price, including the shipping, is one thing that makes or breaks that.Last edited by Gasman; 01-31-2018 at 10:35 PM.

Thanked: 0Thank you all for posting, I really appreciate all the advice and sorry if it seemed as though i was nit-picky. The CV did look like nice.
Here is another, Christian actually mentioned about watching for something like this:Antique-Clauss-Freemont-OH-Straight-Straight-Razor-W-Leather-Case-Very-Nice
The lighting is dark so it hides that the blade looks pretty rough, possibly warped. Pictures are fuzzy and the main focus seems to be the scales, which i find odd but maybe a little interesting.Last edited by StraightCutBeardo; 02-01-2018 at 05:19 PM. Reason: Redundancy

Is a nice shape wade butcher FBU although it seems to have a good amount of rust and probably pitting by the edge so no telling on if you could get good edge from it or not.
Guessing this lighting was the best way to make it look good.

Thanked: 0For the first blade, image 4/10 shows rust on the shoulder and some discoloration. The blade has been recently machine buffed which can be seen by discoloration between name stamp and scales. On some of the images there may be some fine pitting at the toe that the shine and light is hiding. The chip in blade is small, but if from rust may travel deeper. This maker fetches high prices and at time of writing, auction still has some time to go. I would guess a final price of 80 -100 dollars.
