That's the way I like to find um, lots of work to bring um around, by hand. But the sense of accomplishment, is most rewarding, and given with the shave it brings.

I’ve restored a couple in rougher shape, but nothing with remotely the same amount of real estate, I think 7/8-15/16” has been the widest. I think this razor is well into the 9/8 range.

A big chunk of steel like that should also be easy to re-grind if you want to go that option.

Just got in the mail. A fat 1 1/16” then thins out 15/16”. The pitting isn’t too bad. Definitely needs some sanding but shouldn’t take much more than an hour or two. Need to make a wheel to match the grind, then I’m off too the races. I think I’ll do a wip on this one, should be fun for all.
Austin has sent me some honey horn, time to make a plan.

That’s the idea, something to match the grind radius, I’ll chuck it up on my lathe and get to work, I’ve hand sanded a few and wouldn’t wish that on anyone, plus my arthritis would kick my butt.
I started a WIP thread in the resto part of the forum.
