    Don't know if this is the place to post this, but here goes

    Interesting advertising piece for sale by auction in Knoxville, Tennessee on the 26th of Jan.

    BARBER STRAIGHT RAZOR DISPLAY OR ADVERTISING SIGN
    Large barber straight razor display or advertising sign, comprised of wood cover/sheath with mother of pearl overlay and a hinged iron blade with engraved scrolling foliate pattern, all mounted onto a black wooden base. Unsigned. 11" H x 44" L x 7 1/8" D. 42.6 lbs. Probably American, late 19th/early 20th century.

    I like it. I would love to hold it. I think a few years ago a similar one sold for a few thousand, but it had a makers mark on it. I think there are some pictures around here of the huge Henckels(?) one with carved scales. I think that was who made it.

    If it was that Boker with the ivory scales it is said to have sold for $35,000.
