eBay Global Shipping. A bad experience.
A bad experience today with eBay global shipping. I wonder if others have had the same experience.
I sold a razor to an overseas buyer. I have sold several to him in the past. Two weeks after I sent the razor to their global shipping center I received an email from eBay. The item in question has been deemed restricted. This could be due to import/shipping restrictions or eligibility requirements within the Global Shipping Program. The item will not be shipped forward to its final destination and will not be returned to you.
Don’t worry! Your buyer will be notified and refunded automatically by eBay within 72 hours. You will retain the buyer’s original payment. At this time, the transaction is considered complete, and no further action is needed.
Today the item shows up for sale on eBay by another seller using my pictures and my write up of the razor. A huge seller with over 98K in sales. The whole thing just stinks. The folks I talked with on the phone at eBay seemed very engaged but they were just passing information up the food chain and I'm sure I will never hear of any resolution. Some rats working in the global shipping center. I hope they can clean them out.

Wow... that's terrible. I'm sorry to hear this.
I've had some weird issues with international shipping (and even USPS shipping), such that maybe 15% of my razor purchases are stopped along the ways to me out here. It's inconsistent. Don't know anything about this though... sorry to hear it!
Handsome aircraft though...

Thanked: 3226Sorry to hear of your experience.
Straight razors being restricted sounds like a load of horse hockey to me too. I think you are right in guessing that there are some rats loose in Global shipping. Unfortunately, I also think that you are right in that it will get papered over and buried with no further action. The whole thing just stinks.

That is bizarre. When you select that program for shipping if the item is ineligible or the country is not on their list you find out immediately before shipping it out. Also, the shipping center is not run by Eboy but another private outfit they have a contract with.

Thanked: 634Have you contacted the seller inquiring where he obtained the razor and then tell him you are putting in a complaint he used your photos and description? He may have a friend working at Global Shipping or works there himself. That might be blade gets some of his merchandise.

Thanked: 4827I suspect that the shipping Center has a contract with a buyer that sells off all of their non return items. A liquidator of sorts. The sipping Center likely gets a percent of sales for their non shippable items. A buddy deal is common in these thing. The copying your ad is wrong and the side deals always stink if you ask me. I have always hared global shipping from a buyers perspective. It’s very expensive, it is very slow, and I have had a few purchases rejected. I no longer even look at anything that says global ship for shipping, it has just left me with a sour taste all around. This story has not improved my point of view.

This is not the first story about the Global shipping.
A seller was sending two boxes to customers in Europe.
They disappeared
The empty boxes were found at the facility.
At that time the place was in KentuckyIf you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
