That really stinks. If they didn't disclaim it then they tried to hide it. It's not as if they didn't notice it. Shouldn't have any trouble with the return, at least not having eBay behind you.

Good news, the seller accepted the return. Problem solved.
Yeah shopping on eBay is risky, I have had good luck with stones and few razors I have bought. This was the first bad experience, nope the second. The first was the mess with the Russian stone seller and all the tricks/shilling he was pulling but even then I got my money back.

You might have been able to hone it out but it would have been lots of work with no guarantee it would fix it (lots of metal to be removed and possible crack) a return is by far the best option

I stopped using ebay many years ago when they introduced a host of requirements to being allowed to post things for sale and I didn't qualify anymore for some unspecified reason.
