International parcels into the U.S get to go through the Customs treatment. If they are unlucky enough to go through LAX Customs that is a disaster area under normal circumstances and JFK ain't much better.

The only time I have ever actually lost something in the mail was with DHL. That happened twice. They run a real Mickey Mouse operation here in the U.S.

Considering the volume I have no quarrel with USPS. I've had huge delays from time to time with UPS and Fedex. I've had parcels sent to Minnesota rather than New Mexico with Fedex. I guess someone there mistakes NM for MN.

Here in the U.S much of the long haul stuff through USPS is contract carried by Fedex and other private contractors. Often times things go UPS or Fedex and the last few miles are handed off to USPS and you can lose days in the handoff.

At least with USPS you can talk to the postmaster or file a congressional if you have a problem. With the private services you can go whistle dixie,

Just love LAX Customs. Recently had a package from China go to the same street address as mine but in West Hollywood, CA. Did get a refund though.

Hey Pete I see you are around here.

You should have some good input.

I don't think they can fire you anymore!
