Fishy Duck??
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Razor-du...QQcmdZViewItem
Looking at this auction got me to saying WTF??
Am I seeing something normal or am I seeing a re-build Duck being passed off as new?
Just thought I'd pass this along.

Name on the blade doesn't match the scales, thats the big one, plus I don't remember seeing a DD with that shaped point. Not that I've seen all the variations of DD's but I haven't seen this before, and it sends off alarms...

Could it just be a mis stamp on the tang? I've not seen many good pics of the DD wedges.

I was wondering the same thing when I saw it. I don't know anything about DD's except what I've seen on ebay in the last 2 weeks and read on this boards, but I assumed it's a rescaled one. Essentially all of germanrazors' stuff are mint and if there is a box it's a generic one. And if I understand correctly Revisor is a generic Solingen brand.
I'm sure the senior members will come to clarify this - somebody must have bought stuff from him.

Thanked: 4I will say that it appears to be a flat grind (wedge) judging by the grind line at the bolster. A 4/8 is a little too small for my tastes though. A beautiful razor.

I emailed the seller and told him the scales and razor are mismatched. Even though the razor says satinedge it is a satinwedge. The wedges have that kind of end and the 4/8s is also a giveaway so its a misstamp from the factory. Also did you notice the tang is goldplated? neither the satinedge or satinwedge come with a gold plated tang the goldedge has that so that razor is a real screw up from the factory. A hybrid-a gold satin wedge-edge eh? And oh yes German razors E-mailed me back and said he bought that razor during a trip to the U.S and he will guarantee its not a rescale and its a mint razor never used before.

I guess this is why company parties are help after hours and somewhere other than the factory...
