It's nice alright ! Only 2 bidders thought is was worth more than $300.00 . Looks like they got into a bidding war and ran the price up .

Was it 'one of a kind'? If it was, then it is worth what the buyer believes it is worth. I personally would not spend that much on a str8 but then again I don't have that kind of money to allow for a huge shaving budget.

Thanked: 1587For me, alternative uses for 480USD make it "not $480 nice", but each to their own. Bill is a master craftsman, after all. But 480 for what is essentially just a nicely rescaled and (presumably) cleaned up old Wostey, even if it *is* an 8/8, well... not for me, anyway.
Funny thing is, do you guys remember that W&B meatchopper with buffalo scales that bloke keeps trying to sell on ebay for like 300 and no-one ever bids? Betcha he's a bit frustrated right about now!

Heh...I was watching this one until it went over $200. Then I gave up. I can pick up many nice (maybe not AS nice, but nice) blades for that kinda dough.

Its worth whatever the top buyer paid for it - but I certainly wouldn't pay this much for that particular razor.

It looks like a crazy price to me, because one could duplicate it for a lot less by buying a decent blade on ebay and sending it to one of our professional restorers to be cleaned up and re-scaled.

$480 razor
It was my razor.
It was really nice.
It was one of a kind... and it was quality.
Was it worth $480? I guess that's up to the buyer to decide.
Would I spend that kind of money for it? Nah.
But I did buy a razor on e-bay last week for $515. Most of you guys wouldn't think it was worth the money either. I did. I love it. I sniped $670 for it and got lucky.
That's the beauty of collecting...whatever makes you happy I guess...huh?
