    Default King Barber?

I'm a newbie and got a little trigger happy this weekend.. was hoping I actually picked up something good as the newbie tutorial says that King is a good brand. Guess I will see when it comes in the mail. Feel free to tell me if I've been suckered or if its actually worth sending off to Lynn for a honing.

it appears to be good, but you can't know for sure until it's in your hot little hand!

well for $11 I'd consider it a gamble.. If the razor is a gem then you got a bargain.. if it's a dud then your investment wasn't that huge. So the loss is minimal..

    Default Here it is.

The blade appears to be ok. Theres a little bit of what looks like rust on the edge but I think thats ok. There are little etches in the top of the tang, I think maybe they are for a better grip. The handle (is it called the scales?) seems loose fitting to the blade but fully extended its nice and tight. Closed the blade wiggles around against the thing in the front, I think its called a spacer. And the handle is flimsy when lightly squeezed in the middle, though this may be a normal straight razor thing as I've never held one before. So I have two questions. What exactly did I get, if anybody knows? and is it any good?

Facts: The handle says "King Barber" the blade is stamped or etched with "Schoenbrunn" and the tang says "Heinrich Schoenebrunn Soligen Germany"

If nothing else, this will be something I can practice stroping with.

    Thanks,
    Mark

On further reflection, I've decided that I may have sounded critical and unthankful in the above. This is not the case. My new (new to me) razor is calling to me to be cleaned up, honed, stroped, and just given a chance to show me straight shaving charm. For the price, I think its an excellent bargain. Just curious if its an established brand or not.
