    Default I love Bargain Hunting

I rolled the dice on THIS. Anyone know what it is?? I'm gearing up to practice honing. I think one way to find deals nowadays is to gamble on shoddy pictures.

I would have gambled on that one myself. I just got this one in the mail and it's in much better shape than I thought it would be..

The biggest block is if you insist on looking at something labeled "shave ready". Those are the razors with 15 watches on them, and they'll be sure to be sniped. If you're willing to gamble a bit, like on this razor that has no clear picture, but it has nice scales, you'll often be disappointed when the razor arrives, but sometimes you'll score nicely.

I'm hoping to learn to hone, and to develop some restoration skills. If I get get a razor to learn on for $15 shipped, I'm willing to roll the dice on it. If I can restore it, I'll either use it, or sell it for maybe $30 or $35. Some day, when the really nasty looking Henkels rolls into auction, I'll be ready to restore it.

I had that on the watch list, but it was to close to one that I already had so I didn't bid on it. Mine is stamped just GEM from the GEM razor company I wonder if the are the same??? Let us know how you came out on the blade with it...
That was a great deal though, I always figure it this way, the cheapest plastic scales from Classicshave, are $10.99 plus shipping, so if I can snag a razor with nice scales, even if the blade is un-restorable you still made out at anything under $20

I find bargains to be had when the razor is wrongly listed so doesn't get noticed. Also when photos and descriptions are poor and no-one wants to risk it. I bought this and it's beautiful, but you'd never guess from the photo. No-one else bid.
