What am I missing?
I usually don't post links to auctions that are still in progress, but this one really had me puzzled:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-CUT-THRO...QQcmdZViewItem
Can anyone explain to me what is going one hereSure, it might be a nice razor and all, but 1/4 of the edge is MISSING. You'd think the people bidding on it would know....

The best part is when someone asked if the edge had nicks. His response was: There are no nicks to the edge.
I think the guy would have more problems with that edge than nicks...

Thanked: 1It's worth every penny of the current bid! Well, that is if you want to grind off the front of the blade, put it into small scales with a close-lock mechanism, and have the first keychain razor on your block!

Thanked: 1587That's an extremely rare Bengall "Smirk". They were made by Cadman's first, and only, apprentice who, iirc, lost both arms in a smelting accident and subsequently did most of his work with his feet. Unfortunately, he had contracted Poliomyelitis at an early age and his right leg was slightly shorter than his left. Hence the tell-tale half-smile edge that characterises his razors. Very few of these razors were ever manufactured, as Cadman found the paperwork involved with taking on an apprentice too time-consuming, and let him go 6 months into his indenture.
I'd be amazed if this baby didn't go for 10 times what it's at now.
