E-Bizzle blues...
I need some help. I have two situations.
1) I bought and paid for three razors. (one auction) That was on 31 Jan. I think the razors were "shipped" on 2 Feb. They are still not here. The package has a tracking number, and all it says is that the package has been excepted by the first post office. (in Canada) So, can I legally do anything when the other person at least took the package to the post office? Is it ethical to ask for my money back? Granted, it was only $32 bucks, but still. I understand its a bit premature yet, but when should I contact paypal/ebay/leave neg feedback, and should I leave neg feedback? Too many Q's... need help.
The other situation, I will comment on later after I have a better grasp on the situation.

Thanked: 22I've never had such an experience yet, but what I would do is contact the post office and find out what happened. Then from a similar post I imagine you will need to contact the seller and get them to file a claim or get them to start a search, IIRC.
Others will be able to give you much better advice from experience.

I think, with the post office and UPS, the seller has to initiate the tracker on the package.
If its coming from Canada its VERY possible its stuck in customs! On the USPS site they say "International Priority Mail" averages 6-10 days... regular mail they list as "variable"
One of the major problems with shipping "overseas"!

Thanked: 21So far, all is out of the sellers control, and there's no call to leave neg. feedback. I'd contact the seller, just for a heads-up, let him know that there seems to be a delay in mailing, and you're willing to wait a little while for this to be resolved on its own through the Post Office, and that there may come a point when he needs to grease the wheels a bit. After that, play it by ear.

Yeah, here is the thing. I have talked to the seller a number of times. The first time is right after I won the auction. This guy charged me $16 to ship this package. When I initially bid on the auction, I read $6 for shipping. Then when I saw the ballance I e-mailed to see if it was a mistake. The Seller was very indignified that I would ask such a question and informed me that they have to charge that much because they track every single box and ensure delivery. So I paid the amount because it was the right thing to do. Its not their fault that I misread the shipping. So after 2 weeks I contacted the seller and let them know that I had still not received the package and asked them to start a track. They responded and said that their post office has no way of tracking it once it leaves their post office. So then I asked why I had to pay $16 if there was no way for them to "track" the package. So there is quite a bit of heartburn all the way around this issue, and thats why Im contemplating the neg feedback.

Thanked: 8If you paid with paypal and the sellers has no way of showing it made it to your door step then you can file a claim and get your money back.
Don't need to go the feedback route until paypal rules in your favor.
And it doesn't matter if the seller had insurance or tracking, if they can't use the tracking to show it arrived then you can get all of your money back including that ridiculous shipping charge.

Your seller has to "pull his weight" here ~ Ask him (ever so politely) to check with his Post Office. Ask if he could email a scan of the postal receipt (I paid for Airmail from the USA, seller was charged for Airmail, parcel actually came Surface 8-10 weeks delivery)
If seller is un co-operative, give it another week, then go to your Paypal account & start the Dispute process. Item not received. You will get your money back via Paypal, but by being extremely nice for a week your seller might be able to find out some details.
Never leave Feedback at this stage ~ neg him now & he is not going to help you. You have 90 days to leave FB (will be 60 soon) There is no rush.
Australia Post will no longer insure items being posted to Canada ~ so obviously there are problems with the Canadian postal system.

Sounds to like your seller ripped you off on the shipping claiming the tracking was neccessary when he knew all along there was no tracking but he figured you would get the item and never realize that. Now something has gone wrong and his little game is out of the bag. Probably his way of getting an extra 10 bucks or so out of his clients. So now you know he is a crook. If it hasn't arrived at this point I'd file with paypal/eboy. Give him back what he did to you.

I believe there's 45 day timeframe with paypal for you to file a dispute. You can give it an extra week or two, but beyond that I'd just open a dispute with paypal for 'Item not received'. If the seller can't prove that you have received it, then you'll get the whole transaction money refunded into your account. Sellers should use tracking for their protection, if they choose not to, it's their problem when paypal takes back the money from them.
So, nothing to worry about all this. If the seller is such a jerk I won't waste any more time contacting them. Just wait whatever you think is a reasonable period for the package to arrive and go the official route.
You can leave ebay feedback at the end of it.
