Default What's up with this W&B?

The seller says it looks like half the blade is copper. Doesn't make sense to me. If you closely at the "split" in the middle of the blade, the line has a slightly different shape on the front as opposed to the back. I don't see how a blade can be half copper and shave well? Looks like a broken blade was repaired really well. Anyone think this razor is in original and usable condition? If so, why?

I don't believe thats copper. I don't see any green coloration. I think maybe a repaired blade with a light coat of rust and a bad picture. But been wrong before

I'm going to step in with an uber wild guess, that copper could simply be a copper coating. Very easy to do and the joint pattern could simply be a tape mask cut with a sharp knife to the desired shape. To copper coat steel, all you need is a copper sulfate solution and wipe it on with a rag. It's one of the old fashioned ways of doing layout on steel for machining. The copper sulfate leaves a thin copper wash that is easy to scribe lines in. It's not very durable though... thus my suspicion in this case.

    Regards
