I'd be reluctant to ever buy cigars blind again. Too many bad experiences with the cigars being so tightly packed into the bozes you end up going blue in the face trying to smoke them.

Also, i found esplendidos too big for my preference. Rarely does life offer me that many hours to while away in the right climate toking on those boys. Now the UK smoking ban is here to stay I use smaller stoogies to keep me outside for less and warmer for more!

It's hard to tell whether they're the real mccoy or not
without seeing the cigar band. That's generally
where they scew up when counterfeitting. I personally
wouldn't buy them (not that I can being in the
US) without seeing them in person.

Cohiba is probably the most "pirate-copied" cigar in the world.
I would only trust a well-established cigar store that has a reputation to loose for buying them.

My experience with genuine Cohiba's is a mixed one: The Robusto is among the best cigars I 've ever smoked, and I never encountered one of those that had some of the often found flaws on various other Cohiba models. They cost 16 euro each here in Belgium, so they better be flawless. Some of the other models have a reputation for quality variance, so that's why I personally stay away from those.
I've seen too many of them with draft problems and notches.

The problem is that Cohibas taste quite unique, and that it is nearly impossible to find an alternative for a good Cohiba. Certain models of the brand AVO possess the hay-like aroma that I find typical for Cohiba. I've never bought an AVO with a flaw.

I'm also a big fan of the Robustos from Flor De Selva (a Hondurian brand). IMHO they offer the quality of Cohiba at half the price.

    Enjoy that smoke,
    Bart.

Ahhh... Cohibas. Can one even legally get Cubans in the US now?

And if not, who wants to ship me a couple....

I would never say for the record that I agree with bhands, use my cuban cigars.com
I have seen thousands of boxes, they are not cheap, even in cuba (from what I hear) you have to buy them because you like them. Also if the ban gets lifted, you investment will be better off up in smoke.

You should only buy cigars to smoke, they make a lousy investment.

Agreed, one's investment is far too likely to go up in smoke...
