    Default Craftsman Razor

$162 seem a little high for this razor? I started the bidding on it, but had since purchased another razor and decided to let this one go. It's a good thing I didn't waste my time on it - never expected it to get that high.

Apparently not too high. Especially considering it's NOS, maybe Gssixgun will pop in and say why he likes it so much.

Default One of the most Collectables out there

The Craftsman Branded razors are very collectible especially in that kind of shape...
I have been after one for over a year, that was a low price compared to some of the ones I have seen go
They are sought after by both groups of collectors the straight shavers and the razor collectors so the prices can sometimes get high on them...
I thought that the $162 was a deal considering the Snipe that was set...
I wanted 'that' razor, one of the few that I have seen with a spike point and the yellow cracked ice scales...

Well, I'll be in no rush to find that old beat up one. Just pulled the trigger on an iwasaki. That's it for me for quite some time. Recently picked up an old student microscope (40x, 100x, 400x) and am trying to refine my honing.

    Hope you enjoy that craftsman!

Default Query on Craftsman I found

First off I would like to say hello to everyone and hope you're having a good day!

I visited an antique mall yesterday and found one of these craftsman straight razors in a display they had. I looked at the blade and the edge appeared to be in tact with no nicks or scratches. The gold stamp was worn a little and there were some black spots from tarnishing, but all in all it was in pretty good shape. The handles were straight and the blade went in straight. no cracks on the handle scales or anything else.

I recall seeing the 9210 stamped behind the blade and Solengen Germany on the reverse. Anyhow they were asking $45 for it and seeing the prices posted here it seems like it'd be worth it. Though it'd take some work to clean it up and sharpen it cause im sure it needs it, I really wanna get into the straight razor method of shaving.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!

It sounds okay, but I would still try to talk them down!

That would make it one of the ERN manufactured models -- FYI, for your research.

Default A dollar short, a minute late.

So I got payed last week, and finally decided to buy the razor. Went the the antique mall and sure enough someone else found it to be a nice piece. I was disappointed but i guess it's for the better. I needed a strop mug brush and razor as well so i bought a DOVO Bismarck set from Vintage Razor Place. Hoping it gets here quickly. Thanks for all your advice
