Anybody heard of these?
I'm still pretty new to str8 shaving and was wondering if anybody had ever heard of some vintage razors stamped
J. DREW & SON
Are they good razors?

Thanked: 2209Look for a stamp that indicates the country of origin. Germany, Solingen, England, Sheffield, Sweden, Eskiltuna,France, Spain or an American location are always good. Watch out for blades without a "stamped" country of origin on the tang of the blade, not on the face of the blade. This is not complete but is a starting point.

Ah they do have more stamped on them per the auction. They look in really good shape ... the rest of the stamp is:
LEADENHALL ST CITY & PICCADILLY CIRCUS .W & BRIGHTON
Not sure if that really isolates it to a country though? Unless someone else is familiar with them. They also appear to have original scales with a stamp of like a deer's head on the bottom of the scales, can make out the antlers and that.

Drew & SOn were retailers of gentlemen's requisites and had premises at Piccadilly Circus and Brighton. They sold good quality razors (I believe these were Sheffield made) and the crest is found on most of their higher-grade razors. I've had one or two (still have one I think) and they are good - but them if they are in good condition!

I did and they weren't cheap. I hope the razors aren't either.
