    Default Mappin&Webb

What do you guys think of this action?

I've asked the seller for better pic's but the pic's in the ad is all he has.

I have one of those except that mine's a spike. Perhaps this one is a spike that's been tamed a bit.
Mapin & Webb made the most excellent razors; definately worth bidding on.

I had a snipe set on that but I canceled it after I won these:

I have another Mappin & Webb that I really like, and I'd been looking for one of the "nulli secundus" razors for a while. They don't seem to pop up that often, I say go for it.

Mappin & Webb razors shave with the best of them. Definately worth a bid since you don't see them often. Looks like that one will take a bit of cleaning though.

I' ve asked the seller for some better pic's to try to figure out the state of the blade, he says that the pic's on ebay is all the pics he's got, so I'll guess I want go that high.

Frankly, and this is just my opinion, sellers that don't have good detailing pictures their wares do not inspire a warm, fuzzy feeling. It is too easy to hide a major flaw, especially with vintage straights. That said, Mappin & Webbs don't come up too often so I would likely bid if I were after one. But I would bid significantly less. For what it is worth, they do show up in the BST forums on occasion.

What a coincidence, it's exactly the same feelings I have about it, so I'd rather spend a $200 here on B/S/T and get something really good, than take a chance for $100 on the ebay.

PS: random figures, just an example
