I was checking that one out too. Seems to me that it has been cut down. Those 1056 Bokers usually have a spanish/notch point I thought (at least I have never seen them with a round point). So otherwise I think it looked ok. Just up to you whether or not you want a shortened blade.

Now that you mention it, the blade does look shorter. Alex, I hate to get off topic, but do you make your own scales?

If its been shortened it aient by much and who ever did it did one heck of a job. one thing about bokers I have learned is just when you think you have seen them all 10 new ones turn up.

Yes, I do. I sometimes do them for other people too lol. Look around the restoration threads for some of my stuff. I just posted some preliminary carbon fiber scales there too.

I suspect that this Boker with a worked spine and pressed scales is going to get sniped for close to a $100.00 if not more. It's a fine razor but it does need a restoration.

    Thoughts?

    Well, I'm bidding on it

If it gets sniped for $100, so be it. Interesting to see this one, and the "ivory" covered tang one up at the same time.

If you compare the two spines, the covered tang one does look to have 3 full "swoops" on the back, this one has only 2 1/2. Does that mean it was shortened? Perhaps it came from the factory that way, as the scales don't appear to be overly long for it?

Anyhow, best wishes to all who are bidding on it, looks like an interesting piece.

Check out the second full blade pic. Sure looks shortened to me. +1 on the 2.5 swoops thing too. I haven't seen a razor with this type of worked back not have the final "swoop" complete.
