I suspect they are real but they are 90 dollars each, not for all six! Too much for me!

My guess is they're legit. Even so, I agree $90 for a single barber hone is way too much. The promotional literature at the time may or may not have been accurate; but even giving the claims the literature makes the benefit of the doubt, abrasive technology has come so far since. Plus in my limited experience with barber hones (I have three), for me the natural polishing stones like the coticule, Thuringian stones and the Chinese 12K put a better shaving edge on my razors. Granted, I have used the natural polishing stones more than the barber hones I have but my point is, the promo makes it sound like those are the holy grail of hones and........I don't think there is such a thing.
