Something interesting about Chas Clements. The address of 41 Gracechurch Street is a London address, a City of London address. They are about to knock the block the shop was part of down and build a skyscraper!! Ok a tallish building compared to what they build in some countries.
I'm not sure if it is the same Chas Clements, but there is a chap of that name who made WW1 era fighting knives. I also have a Martin&Co Ivory scaled travel wedge that was made 'up the road' in "Gacechurch st EC". I'm pretty sure E.C is East City, an early postcode maybe.?
So, was Mr Clements a Pearly King or a Sheffield lad I wonder?
