Thread: Role of the Ebay auction forum?

After putting in the time to restore a few razors (both by hand and tumbling...no scales yet) I have no qualms with anyone going to eBay to try and get the best price possible on a razor, and I don't see any issue with posting something about your auctions here. It would be nice to offer a shipping discount, or maybe the occasional BST-only sale to show your support of SRP but that's up to each person and I don't think should be enforced.
So my vote is "Post away!"

How many times have we seen someone post a link to an ebay auction...
"for all you (favorite razor brand here) lovers... looks MINT and seems to be under the radar"...
And the poster has no connection to the auction... just to help members who would be interested in the item.
I see no problem posting a link to your own auction.

OK guys here it is.
It has been determined that you CAN post links to your eBay or other auction sales since it has been done in the past. We would prefer that if you have several razors that you put all of them in ONE thread and post it on this forum "Auction Talk.......eBay, etc".
Also, if you want to advertise your auction sales in the SRP ad area please fill out the contact us form at the bottom of this page. The SRP ad area are those ads that you see to the left of some of these pages.
Continuing, if you click on the Home page, located near the top of the page, you will see the Classified section. This is a pretty cool place to display your wares for sale. After you click on the Classified section you will see: "If you are unsure how to place an ad, check the FAQ in the Forum [here]". Click on the word HERE and it will take you to the instructions on how to list an item.
We are also pondering the idea of having a forum dedicated to the linking of sales items on eBay or other auctions.
If you have any questions please PM me and we can discuss them.
Good Luck.............Last edited by gugi; 10-14-2013 at 01:01 AM. Reason: updated contact info
if anything has been abnormal for a long enough period it then becomes normal.

Thanked: 2I'm glad I stumbled on this thread as I hoped to list some razors & other related items on Ebay tonight. I had planned on putting one on a thread here mainly to avoid embarassment if another member happened to post it as "Another Barbers notch" or similar.
I was in two minds whether to add a link to SRP on the actual auction for the following reasons:
a) The reader may think I have more knowledge of straights than I actually do.
b) Encouraging nutters to this site
I would offer any members here a discount on postage but it wouldn't be advertised on the sale.... yes I could put it on just using the intials SRP OR is it preferable to advertise SRP on auctions.
I'm more confused than when I started........momma

Did someone say “Barbers Notch”… momma!!... long time no see.
I’ve gotten a few great deals from members with ebay listings. No doubt we'll all benefit from some of your merchandise.
