    Default Ebay ~ my item

Well I finally managed to get some shaving items listed. I really struggled with the photos.....
I know my start prices are quite high compared to what is on offer on US Ebay, but by the time I add what I paid for each item, listing & FVF fees ~ one bid would not see much profit for momma.
I will try to list the rest tomorrow night ~ any constructive or destructive criticism?? Anything wrong or missed???
    I'm a bit nervous

This one is "The Club Razor" for barbers Germany

I wish every seller on e-bay took that good of photos of their items. Whenever I see a out of focus pic I think whats wrong with it and nine times out of ten wont bid. Thats just me though.

Thanks Sandcounty & witmen ~ it's really hard to get pics without reflections & when you tilt the blade for a pic it looks like there's no shine at all!!!
Back to the camera in the morning but at least I know these ones are okay.
    Thanks again.......momma

Looks good. Just wondering if it comes up when you search cut throat razor because it's a pretty popular term for them in Aus. I have a few I would like to get rid but can't seem to take the first step.
    Well done

Brian, have you ever sold anything on Ebay? First thing is a Sellers account or maybe a friend who sells on Ebay???
Sometimes I forget basic info like measurements ~ Well, I mean.... the item is sitting right in front of me & I can see how big it is
    If you need any help........

Never sold anything. Got a brother in law who's good at getting rid of Christmas presents on ebay.I should ask him for advice.
    Thanks

The general reasoning in selling on Ebay and setting a price is that you want to start the bidding off low enough so that you get many early bids which will create interest in the item. If you start with a high selling price that tends to be a turn off unless its a really rare item or it's something that one or two guys just have to have. Of course at the same time you don't want to start too low and wind up selling at a loss though you can always end an auction early or close it down. You can also use a reserve auction but that costs you money if you don't sell.

I agree with thebigspender, psychologically or otherwise, I higher minimum turns me off personally from even bidding. Although as a seller, I'll probably never start a razor with no reserve again; that type of practice almost cost me kissing a decent 5/8 Torey barber notch goodbye for only .99 cents when I probably paid $10 for it. Thankfully the person never paid (never paid at .99 cents!) and I reported it as unpaid and kept the razor.

Hi bigspendur, Aus Ebay doesn't have reserves on general auctions (cars etc ~ yes)
The Wade & Butcher that I have listed at $19.99 presume it gets one bid to an international buyer.
    Listing Fees are $2.34
If it sells for $19.99 add FVF's $1.06
Paypal add another 3.4% + .30c which would be on the total price incl. postage & insurance if taken.
Not much point in me listing for less, actually not much point in me listing at $19.99now I've added this lot up
