Thanked: 1Would this be a good strop
I was looking at a bench or paddle strops and I came accross this.
Strop
I want to get one that is cheap and that is why this one caught my eye.
If this is no good than I would love some suggestions. Think cheap if possible
Thanks all,

I would go here http://shop.thewellshavedgentleman.com/main.sc and look at the "apprentice" or starter strop. I think Tony is closed til Wednesday with some internet issues though. Tony's stuff is top notch.

What exactly do you want this strop to do?
I mean I agree with the others that the auction one is junk but are you looking for a daily strop or something to refresh the edge or finish the sharpening process with?
Makes a big difference with what we might recommend to you.

Definitely go to the Well-Shaved Gentleman. Tony Miller has excellent strops, and you don't want to scrimp on your strop.
Tony's Heirloom Latigo strops are just fabulous.
Also, remember--NO PASTE ON YOUR DAILY STROP!!!! It should be leather only, treated with neats foot oil once every few months. Never use any abrasive on it and keep it clean.

I can't think of very many things we use in our daily shaving routine where spending a relatively small amount of money goes so far to improve the daily shave and once you buy it that's it for the rest of your life.
Treat yourself to the best strop you can afford. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
