    Default Opinions on this duck

Searching the internet I found an auction listing for 3 razors, one of them a DD Special No1. However look at this pic and tell me if that DD's blade has not been heated past the point of no return. I did contact the seller and he said that is the color of the blade. What do you think?

    Thanks
    Bob

Somebody has put some heat to it, how much I cant say, is it ruined I dont know. May have used a Bic lighter and just cosmetic or they may have used a torch and its screwed to the bone. Need to get one of the blade guys in here to look at it.

The blade looks like it was heated and has lost it's temper. <- lol

I have no idea if this blade could be re-tempered, but looking at it as is .... I wouldn't hold my breath.

    Nice scales, though.

Real simple, if ya get that blade for less than $20 grab it because you can probably sell just the scales for that, and re-coupe yer $20 that way....
The cheapest set of crap plastic re-placement scales at Classic are like $13.99 plus shipping, so I figure any razor is worth that if they have usable scales...... There did ya like my .02 cents

The only issue is if the blade was really heated some of that heat was transferred to the scales and celluloid does not like heat so I would expect rot in those scales.
