I think you were looking at this one, RARE H. BOKER BAMBOO STRAIGHT RAZOR * PEARL *FILE WORK* - eBay (item 350094500935 end time Sep-22-08 19:02:00 PDT)

I have my eye on this one also. I would really like to get it. The way my Ebay name shows up is 6***6 if anyone is intrested.

    Hi Guys,

I have bought several razor from this seller and never had a problem.

The razor you're looking at is a re-handle just as an FYI. Looks nice and these are very good shavers.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

I'm thinking this one was a black bakelite with the Boker insignia stamped into it. I don't ever recall an original razor with an imitation bamboo like handle, not that there couldn't have ever been one. I'll have to ask John West.

If you look at page 101 of this catalog you will see what looks like this razor is listed with celluloid bamboo scales. The one on ebay is a not a rescale or if so it is a pretty close match for a look at the whole catalog check the Boker brotherhood.

I've bought a couple razors from him and they were fine. As a matter of fact I spoke to him personally over the phone about a missing payment. He seemed to be a fine chap. As I recall he told me he had a lot of razors.

I stand absolutely corrected. The only ones like that I had ever seen had been with a plain Boker handle with stamped insignia. Now I'm thinking they must have been rehandled. Next time I'm checking with John West first. He has been collecting for over 30 years. Although Doc is a pretty good resource, eh.

    Thanks Doc.

So much to keep learning in this sport.

Hope we have that sheet in the help files..........Much appreciated.

there just no way to know everything about all these razors. I try to limit most of my research to bokers and so just got lucky this time. if you would like to see the whole catalog it is posted in the brotherhood thread. Thanks!
