Ebay Filarmonica-Look familiar?
Isn't this the Filarmonica CS is selling for around $119? I think Ray posted a heads up to it just recently. THanks again Ray.

Thanked: 3795Yup, that's the same thing. I guess he had more than one of them to sell since one has already been sold for $300 to someone who unfortunately didn't know any better. It doesn't matter where it came from, it eventually came from Filarmonica and that makes it identical to the ones Classic Shaving is selling for $120.

picture is the same as the one linked here on our classifieds. Price almost the same. Also the wording seems very similar.

I was just looking at Classic since Joe tempted me with his Filly this afternoon. Seems they are sold out. So, once again, supply is limited and demand remains. Prices will go up again.

It's like deja vu all over again...
Every time this seller posts something for sale (on a shaving forum or on eBay), I check it out just for the entertainment value. Asking prices are usually way out of line, and the commentary that follows is often amusing.
One thing's for sure: he's got nerve!

I actually don't think it will happen over here on srp. For better or worse depending on your personal opinion. Had it been over on you know where, it would have been a different story altogether .
Actually they had a recent fallout with the same person, where I have to say that I think he was right. But on this case its a little bit over the top imo.
Here we don't really have much in place for bst restrictions as it's hard to know where to draw the line. The other place that I frequent they don't allow ebay links. Can't have it all and all that jazz.
So I'm just thankful for all the work these people already have, and continue to, put into the SRP/the other place.
Thanks
Ps: Gabor I got a letter today that my razors are at the local post office 500 meters away! Wee

To me challenging prices openly, seems just a bad taste. I believe that people are not stupid and there are plenty of resources for everybody to make informed decisions.
What we as community can provide is these resources, but ultimately a financial transaction involves two parties only, and each of them has responsibility for their own judgment.
The market is a very dynamical thing as all of us have probably noted over the past few weeks on the stock market, and over the past years and months on the razor market. Prices change all the time, but at the end of the day the price of somebody's razor shouldn't be our main concern. I am yet to see a person here, who has not been able to find a razor that fits their budget.
At the same time, while they can pick any price they like, sellers should address any other questions and concerns about their wares.

I would have no qualms whatsoever about calling someone out if I feel they are behaving underhandedly. If you buy something and then as soon as its arrived in the mail at your house you add more than 100% to the price, seemingly only for profit. If you're willing to do so you should, in my eyes, also be able to handle comments about the fact that you do it without shedding tears when people talk. When I've seen people talk its usually because there's something smelly going on.
Also now you're no longer allowed to delete your adds and re-list in order to get rid of comments. Although I don't reckon it's something that's been an issue really.
Personally I'm fine with there being no rules about prices as there are also no rules to inhibit people discussing prices.Last edited by Chady; 10-11-2008 at 12:36 PM.

Thanked: 3Item ended with zero bids. Just goes to show that auctions with high starting bids tend to not do that well.
