    You are both missing something- Those scales. The lobster scales on that thing are about as rare as can be on a straight. Worth hundreds alone. Watch that auction possibly jump at the last second too. I am not a collector but I have recently been learning that the collecting aspect of razors values this sort of thing greatly and there are way more people out there collecting high priced straights like this one than we can imagine. Most are not on SRP obviously.

    I have to admit the scales rock but thats a LOT of money for scales!!!!

    I agree. That's why I'm more of a shaver than collector lol. There are a bunch of these scale designs that get this kind of money on eBay from the collectors. It is the reason some people prefer keeping scales original on razors also. I have only had that dilemma really when it came to an equally rare razor that has this kind of value as original. Until then, it's kind of hard to understand I guess. Still, I don't know why you'd want those scales when the razor is beat. That's what collectors go for though.
