    Default Return of the Lobster

Not too long ago, there was a thread about a crazy expensive razor with lobster scales. I was surfing, and I found another one. Or maybe it's the same one relisted... I didn't really look to carefully.

vintage lobster shaped Imperial straight razor - eBay (item 130266078100 end time Nov-07-08 13:47:26 PST)

Seriously, are the scales that desirable?

Quite possibly, until the celluloid starts to rot!

Thanks for pointing that out. This is the first I've seen with scales like that. For that price I'd eat a bunch of lobsters.

People who collect razors just for their scales are CRAZY.

People who collect hones, brushes, shave bowls, and shave creams are the sane ones... At least that's what my cats tell me.

Scale collectors are like gunstock collectors or sword hilt collectors.

They drive up prices for no good reason.

I actually pay quite a bit extra for nice scales. But I prefer real keratin.
