    Default "Olympic" by Filarmonica

I've never seen one of these before. Apparently it's a Filarmonica with a different name on it. Is it worth $83 shipped?

I'm not sure whether or not it's an actual Filly, wasn't Filarmonica the name of the company and the #13 a specific model of razor they made? To see a seller that says a razor is made by Filarmonica #13 makes me a little suspicious.

Either way, she was clearly worth $83 to someone.

Sure, post some pics and let us know how she does! I'd be interested in getting a better look at those striations on the blade and tang.

I hope you like razor but I don't see how the seller can say it's a Filarmonica. All Filarmonicas I know say "Fabricacion Espanola." Also, there were other razor factories in Spain, for example: Iberia, Juan Vollmer y Cia, Isidro Morros, and Enrique Corona. Saying definitively that the razor was made by Filarmonica is a little suspect.

Well, it really isn't a Filarmonica, it's an Olympic, made by the same factory that produced the Fillies. In the description of the auction, he says that Filarmonica had several brands, so I guess that the brand Filarmonica was the high-end brand and there were others in other price ranges not as fancy as the Fillies I guess.
It would be interesting to review other Spanish razors, made by Filarmonica and by other brands to compare the kind of shave they give.
One particular brand that I want to grab but I wasn't able to for now is the Palmera, made by Juan Vollmer, a Filarmonica's competitor. And there are others...
One other interesting detail is that other competing brands have named some of their bigger models the number 14, just like the Filarmonica 14.
