Thread: "Natural" hone

That would save my workmen a lot of work!
It's like Bart said, we stopped gluing Coticule to BBW slabs like 15 years ago because of labor costs (which are very high in Belgium) and the introduction of the BBW hones as a sole stone.
A Coticule on black unusable slate is a natural hone.
A BBW is a natural hone.
A natural Coticule BBW combo is a stone where the Coticule and BBW parts are naturally bonded together, no glue used (no natural or synthetic glue used)!
This is how we look at it but I do understand that not everybody has the same interpretation.

They are natural hones, just not a natural combo!

Thanked: 1587This is a "nature or nurture" debate, for sure.

Thanked: 9Just bought the "nurtural hone" on ebay, cause it looked lonely to me being controversial. Since Its my first "coticule" I will try my best to describe this un-natural phenomena of natural counterparts if anyone is interested. The "blue" puzzled me too.. looks rough, un-lapped. But I was more interested in the yellow/cream part of it anyway. The size seemed right at 7" long, I can live with the width. I'm sure I will have plenty questions!
