Default Amazing how often this "ANTIQUE" shows up

It seems like every time I look at straights on ebay, one of these "antique" razors is for sale. It's amazing the number of these that continue to be unearthed. I'm also amazed at how the revolutionary war era razors looked just like old Chinese razors.
It's so lucky for antique collectors that there seems to be a steady stream of these razors being found. I mean, if the archeologists weren't constantly digging these up, someone in Pakistan or China might be tempted to take up the slack!

Along with antique furniture, keys, sword, paintings etc.,etc.,

Do you know that in Thailand, they even copied your Hard Rock Cafe. They called it the Rock Hard cafe.
Cheaper than the original as well.

It's a shame ebay bidders are anonymous now. I would love to ask them what they think they are buying.

I think is is amazing that so many straight razors of all kinds continue to show up. Especially modern straights. When you consider that the safety came into vogue going into the turn of the last century the amount of straights made in the modern era is surprising. I am just glad they keep coming.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That thing is scary-looking, whatever it is. I think it's inspired a new rule: Never bring anything up to my face that is uglier than the face itself.

I'm still holding out for a prehistoric razor.

Not that you are suggesting otherwise, but I've bought a couple of W&B wedges from this seller and he is great. He's very much a straight shooter and the razors come exactly as described and tend to be in nice shape. Not that he would know if that's really from China, but he's scrupled and seems to know alot about razors.

Whats odd is that the seller (Philortrix) is one of the more reputable ones on e-bay for razors....

I was puzzled by that too. I have seen other sellers listing these as well but in his slight defense, this one the only one that I have seen that appears to have actually usable metal and appears to have been honed!
